TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO ADDENDUM TO AGREEMENT WITH MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES; TO WAIVE SECOND READING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, an agreement between the Mifflin Township Board of Trustees and the City of Gahanna was executed on January 28, 1999; and
WHEREAS, an addendum to this agreement has been requested by the Mifflin Township Board of Trustees and the City of Gahanna has approved said addendum to agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Development has requested a waiver of second reading of this legislation in order to complete said addendum in a timely fashion; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this addendum to agreement at the earliest possible date for the continuing efforts of economic redevelopment, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Addendum to Lease Agreement with the MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES, said addendum dealing with the extension of the date of the agreement to December 31, 2000, said addendum agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 2. That second reading of this legislation is hereby waived.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
