TO CREATE THE FULL-TIME UNCLASSIFIED POSITION OF CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL; TO ESTABLISH DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES; AND TO SET COMPENSATION THEREFOR.

WHEREAS, due to retirement of both individuals in our Building Division, the City has been re-evaluating the division functions and expenditures; and

WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary and appropriate at this time to authorize a new position for this division with certain criteria of qualifications and job responsibilities;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1.  That this Council hereby establishes the full-time unclassified position of Chief Building Official.

Section 2.  That the duties for this position are as outlined in the Job Description attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

Section 3.  That compensation for this position is hereby established at the class allocation of 38 and a salary range of  $55,620 to $77,250.

Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
