TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MS CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE TAYLOR ROAD BOOSTER STATION CONSTRUCTION PROJECT; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 1003; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $90,528; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, bids for the Taylor Road Booster Station project were opened on July 9, 2014 and along with this construction, inspection services are needed; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer and the Director of Public Service have recommended we proceed with ms Consultants, Inc., for these inspection services; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to begin this construction during the building season this year, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with ms Consultants, Inc. 2221 Schrock Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229, for construction inspection services for the Taylor Station Road Booster Station project; quote attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of NINETY THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($90,528) is hereby supplementally appropriated from Account No. 652.351.5596, the Unappropriated Balance of the Water Capital Projects/Improvements Fund, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of THIRTY NINE THOUSAND ($39,000) and TEN THOUSAND FIFTY SIX DOLLARS ($10,056) was set aside in prior year Appropriations to Account No. 651.350.5445, Water Operating Engineering Expenses, to further cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
