TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO FIRST AMENDMENT TO CROSS ACCESS EASEMENT FOR THE ST. MATTHEW ATHLETIC FIELDS LOCATED ADJACENT TO BIG WALNUT CREEK AND THE CITY OF GAHANNA PROPERTY ON PARKLAND DRIVE

WHEREAS, the Most Reverend James A. Griffin, Bishop of Columbus extended an easement of 1.645 acres through forested land along the Big Walnut Creek to the City of Gahanna, so as to obtain a southern access to future parklands by Ordinance No. ORD-0246-2001; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to amend the easement area to facilitate the Big Walnut Trail alignment, minimizing existing tree removal and providing space for future bridge connection to Friendship Park; and
WHEREAS, now it is time to amend the agreement the City has with the Most Reverend Frederick F. Campbell, as successor in interest to the Most Reverend James A. Griffin, Bishop of Columbus by First Amendment to the Cross Access Easement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a First Amendment to Cross Access Easement for the 9,411 square feet; Amendment attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
