WHEREAS, the Ohio Municipal Clerk's Association is a professional, statewide organization that works to promote a better understanding of the official duties and obligations of Municipal Clerks, and to enhance the image and role of Municipal Clerks in municipal government; and
WHEREAS, there are approximately 400 members in the Ohio Municipal Clerk's Association; and
WHEREAS, each year the Ohio Municipal Clerk's Association selects one member to be the "CLERK OF THE YEAR"; and
WHEREAS, this is the highest honor that a clerk can receive; and
WHEREAS, the "CLERK OF THE YEAR" must have 5 years of experience in the profession; possess excellent competencies in the position; be involved in regional/state/national associations; have ongoing interest in improving professional and personal skills; and must have made ongoing contributions to the improvement of his/her community; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride and joy that we congratulate our Clerk of Council, ISOBEL L. SHERWOOD, as "CLERK OF THE YEAR";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration, along with the citizens of Gahanna, do hereby honor and commend ISOBEL L. SHERWOOD, for this prestigious award, and thank her for her continuous service to our community.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
