WHEREAS, the Souder Ditch Watershed is tributary to Rocky Fork Creek and extends east of Helmbright and south of Havens Corners Roads, into Gahanna Woods; and
WHEREAS, the City, through Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District, has performed some preliminary study and analysis of the stream corridor and results indicate that the stream corridor is experiencing erosion problems, mainly due to the lack of upstream detention in the Farm Creek subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the City needs to identify and design new detention areas in the upper region of the watershed; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received from Watcon Consulting and the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with them for this work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with WATCON CONSULTING ENGINEERS & SURVEYORS, 83 Shull Avenue, for engineering and survey work on the Souder Ditch Watershed; Contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000) is available in Account No. 631.350.5596, Storm Water Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
