TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE CONCRETE STREET REBUILD, IMPROVEMENT NO 747; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, bids were opened on April 7, 2000, pursuant to Council authorization, and Council is proceeding with the awarding of the contract; and
WHEREAS, inspection services are needed in conjunction with the awarding of the contract; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date due to the pending construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section. 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, OH 43230, for inspection services for the Concrete Street Rebuild, Improvement No. 747, in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That Twenty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($28,500) was set aside in the 2000 Appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
