TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH REYNOLDS INC., FOR THE MORSE ROAD 36" WATER LINE, IMPROVEMENT NO. 699; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $1,308,222; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna and the City of Columbus have entered into Agreement for a joint water line project on Morse Road, Improvement No. 699; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on May 5, 2000, pursuant to authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date due to the pending construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor authorized to enter into contract with REYNOLDS INC., 6451 Germantown Road, Middletown OH 45042, for the Morse Road 36" Water line, Improvement No. 699.
Section 2. That TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($225,000) was appropriated to Account No. 651.350.5512, Capital Projects, Water, in the 2000 Appropriations.
Section 3. That the amount of ONE MILLION THREE HUNDRED EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY TWO DOLLARS ($1,308,222) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5512, Capital Projects, Water.
Section 4. That the City of Columbus will reimburse the City of Gahanna the total of $1,308,222 for this project, as their share as stipulated in Columbus legislation attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 5. That ORD-0001-2000, passed January 3, 2000 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
