WHEREAS, the northern portion of Lincolnshire Road has been scheduled to be rebuilt this year; and
 
WHEREAS, bids were opened on Friday, April 20, 2012, and the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder, Nickolas Savko & Sons; and
 
WHEREAS, it is imperative to begin this work as soon as possible so that the rebuild of the road can be completed before school starts in August, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with NICKOLAS SAVKO & SONS, INC., 4636 Shuster Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214, for Lincolnshire Road Reconstruction, Improvement No. ST 995; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of THREE HUNDRED FORTY THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWELVE DOLLARS ($340,712) is available in Account No. 325.122.5596, Capital Improvements, Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein cost.
 
Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
