TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE GAHANNA COMMUNITY THEATRE.

WHEREAS, Gahanna City Council recognizes and honors Gahanna Community Theatre for 25 years of serving the Theatrical enterprises of the Community of Gahanna, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Gahanna Community Theatre started in 1984 with the musical "Annie Get Your Gun" and recently marked its 25th anniversary with the musical "Beauty and the Beast"; and
WHEREAS, Gahanna Community Theatre donates their profits to Gahanna Lincoln High School with funds going to the Performing Arts Department; and
WHEREAS, special recognition goes to the following people: Char McCasland, the Theatre's founder; Ian Short, the current Director; Maureen Wygant, longtime Vocal Director; Chris Makar, Pianist; and to the Gahanna Lincoln High School for its support; especially Jim Singer, Stage Manager and Chuck Miller, Orchestra Director; and
WHEREAS, many community residents have participated as actors, stage crew, orchestra members, choreographers, ticket sales staff, and sales staff, and they also deserve special recognition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby recognizes that Gahanna Community Theatre plays an important part in making Gahanna the great place it is to live, and encourages the Theatre to continue its great work.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
