TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MS CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR DESIGN, BIDDING AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE GAHANNA WOODS PARK WATER STORAGE TANK; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $48,500; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Woods Park Water Storage Tank needs rehabilitation including the removal of the existing coatings and repainting, installation of insulation and repair of broken navigational warning light; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that this work begin at the earliest possible date, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with MS CONSULTANTS, INC., 2221 Schrock Road, Columbus Ohio 43229, for design, bidding and construction services for the rehabilitation of the Gahanna Woods Park Water Storage Tank according to specifications attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($48,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5445, Water Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That for the reasons set for the in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
