TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BRENNSTUHL CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE 2022 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM (ST-1109)
BODY
WHEREAS, on February 13, 2024, bids were opened and reviewed for the 2022 Sidewalk Program; and
WHEREAS, in total, five bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the 2022 Sidewalk Maintenance Program consists of concrete sidewalk and curb ramp removal and replacement, sidewalk panel chamfer sawcutting, and other related maintenance work; and
WHEREAS, Brennstuhl Construction, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering recommends entering into contract with Brennstuhl Construction, Inc. for the 2022 Sidewalk Maintenance Program, awarding the Base bid of $328,579.23, with a 10 percent contingency to cover any unforeseen construction costs, bringing the total to $361,437.15.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to award and enter into contract with Brennstuhl Construction, Inc, primary offices located at 500 Main Street, Bellville, OH 44813, for the 2022 Sidewalk Maintenance Program (ST-1109); said contract’s terms more particularly described in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding for this project in the amount of three hundred sixty-one thousand four hundred thirty-seven dollars and fifteen cents ($361,437.15) has already been appropriated and approved as follows:
from 325.06.550.5505 (prior year funds): $361,437.15
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
