TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GAHANNA AND MEACHAM & APEL ARCHITECTS, INC., FOR PLAN REVIEW SERVICES FOR 2013; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is required to have plans reviewed by an architect and the Chief Building Official and the Director of Development have recommended that we proceed with Meacham & Apel Architects; and
WHEREAS, this contract needs to be in place by January 1, 2013, so it is prudent to pass this legislation as quickly as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Personal Services Contract with Meacham & Apel Architects, Inc., 775 Yard Street, Suite 325, Columbus, Ohio 43212, for plan review services for the City of Gahanna for 2013; contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That sufficient funds will be set aside in the 2013 Appropriations in Account No. 101.344.5246, Building, Contract Plan Review Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
