TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE ROBERT WEILER COMPANY FOR NEGOTIATIONS FOR LAND ACQUISITION FOR THE CREEKSIDE PROJECT; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $12,000 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received and has been recommended by the Director of Development; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order that acquisition of the properties may begin in a timely fashion, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with THE ROBERT WEILER CO., 41 South High Street, Suite 2200, Columbus OH 43215, for Acquisition Services for the Creekside Project, in accordance with letter proposal, dated January 22, 2001, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWELVE  THOUSAND DOLLARS ($12,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.343.5515, Capital Projects, Acquisition Assistance, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
