TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH NORTH AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO. FOR PURCHASE OF ROCK SALT FOR THE 2014/2015 SEASON.

WHEREAS, our rock salt contract is bid through the SWOP4G consortium and bids were opened on August 6, 2014 for the 2014/2015 season; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for Gahanna's rock salt needs is North American Rock Salt at a price of $113.65 per ton plus a $4.00 piling charge, and the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with them;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract for purchase of rock salt for the 2014/2015 season with NORTH AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO., 9900 West 109th Street, Suite 100, Overland Park, Kansas 66210; Bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A, and in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That funding was set aside in the 2014 Appropriations to Account No. 220.330.5306, Streets, Maintenance Supplies, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
