TO AMEND CHAPTER 151, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION; RECREATION COMMISSION, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES; AND TO RENAME CHAPTER 151 DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.

WHEREAS, Chapter 151 was developed in 1977, when the parks and recreation department was staffed entirely by part-time personnel, and included some guidelines for a part-time parks and recreation commission; and
WHEREAS, is it deemed important to be specific as to the duties of personnel now directing the recreational and park activities in order that it function as a department similar to other departments in the City as to chain of command;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Chapter 151, being renamed "Department of Parks and Recreation," is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A, attached to this ordinance and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Chapter 151, attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT B, and any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
