TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH TERRA SURVEYING SERVICES COMPANY, FOR SURVEYING FOR RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION, OGDEN ALLEY; IMPROVEMENT NO. 774; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $6,500; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain right of way for the improvement of Ogden Alley and the City Engineer has recommended we proceed with Terra Surveying; and

 

WHEREAS, money was appropriated in the 2001 Appropriations, but the project did not move forward in a timely manner, and was not spent and is being returned to the General Fund; and 

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and prudent to effect this contract at the earliest possible date all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Terra Surveying Services Company, 238 Academy Woods Drive, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for surveying for right of way acquisition, Ogden Alley, Improvement No 774.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
