TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT WITH BURGESS & NIPLE, LIMITED, FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE COLLEGE PARK/HERITAGE SUBDIVISIONS REMEDIATION PROGRAM; IMPROVEMENT NO. 781; TO TRANSFER FUNDS THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the City Engineer and Water Resources Engineer that we proceed with a modification of the scope of services authorized by ORD-0031-2002 for the College Park/Heritage Subdivisions Remediation Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the scope of the expanded work will include an expanded sewer cleaning and televising program and a 2 step joint grouting program inspection; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion to prevent further problems in the College Park/Heritage Subdivisions, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO;

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended Contract with Burgess & Niple, Limited, 5085 Reed Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220, for an expanded scope of services for the College Park/Heritage Subdivisions Remediation Program, Improvement No. 781; said proposal attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That the amount of FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($14,000) is hereby transferred from Account No. 661.360.5445, Sewer Engineering, to Account No. 661.360.5533, Capital Projects, Sanitary Sewer, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2003 is hereby amended to reflect this transfer of funds.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
