Title

TO ESTABLISH THE RATES OF PAY AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 1998 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2000; TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 980426; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 120-95, passed October 3, 1995, and as amended, provided the salary and benefit package for the unclassified employees of the City of Gahanna through December 31, 1997, and was repealed by Ordinance No. 980426, passed October 19, 1998;

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 980426 was found to be defective and it is deemed appropriate by this Council for employee morale and continuity of City business to proceed with new legislation for salary and benefit provisions at the earliest possible date, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That where not in conflict with the Charter, Ordinances, or lawfully promulgated rules and regulations of the City of Gahanna, the Master Salary Ordinance for full-time unclassified personnel of the City of Gahanna, is hereby enacted as noted in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.

 

Section 2.  That the pay and benefits of this ordinance shall be retroactive to January 1, 1998, except as otherwise noted.

 

Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980426 or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
