WHEREAS, as part of the Safe Routes to Schools Program, ODOT is offering standard school zone and pedestrian warning signs for use near K-8 schools in Ohio; and
 
WHEREAS, if a community needs to replace said signs, and can do so themselves, ODOT offers the signs at no charge to the community, and Gahanna wishes to participate;  
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Safe Routes to Schools Program Agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation, 1980 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223, for SRTS Sign Program; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
