TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THINKHR TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF GAHANNA EMPLOYEES WEBINAR BASED TRAINING IN THE AREAS OF SAFETY, WELLNESS AND OTHER COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the intent of this agreement is to provide webinar based training options to City employees in the area of safety, wellness and other compliance areas; and


WHEREAS, the monthly expense of this service will be $259.00 which has already been appropriated for the current year; and

 

WHEREAS, federal law requires training in many health, safety and compliance areas to include discrimination and sexual harassment; and

 

WHEREAS, many of our employees work during non-normal business hours, outside of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or in offsite locations and this tool will allow management to more efficiently schedule trainings to meet their departmental needs; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward quickly to be able to provide a resource to our 24/7 operation employees and have them fulfill wellness education requirements this year, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with ThinkHR Corporation, 4457 Willow Road, Suite 120, Pleasanton, California 94588, for webinar based training in the areas of safety, wellness and other compliance requirements; agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2. That funding in the amount of $3,108 is already appropriated in the Wellness Plan and Training Fund Account.

 

Section.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
