TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBUS FOR WATER QUALITY LAB TESTING.

WHEREAS, we have contracts with an outside company to perform our Ohio EPA required quarterly water quality tests; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus recently began offering this service to its satellite communities and we would like to switch laboratory services to perform the tests for total trihalomethanes (TTHM) and Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) to the City of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, by switching companies to do the testing there will be a cost savings for these analytical services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with THE CITY OF COLUMBUS, Water Quality Assurance Lab, 910 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215, for sample collection and analytical services for calendar year 2014 and 2015, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding for this testing will be appropriated in the 2014 and 2015 appropriations to Account No. 651.350.5470, Water, Regulatory Requirements, to cover the herein costs
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
