TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH R.P. HUGHES ARCHITECTS, INC., FOR PREPARATION OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA 20-YEAR FACILITY ASSESSMENT/MASTER PLAN; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, proposals were received for preparation of a City twenty year Facility Assessment/Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, members of the Administration interviewed three firms and it was a unanimous decision to proceed with R.P. Hughes; and
WHEREAS, it is also the recommendation of the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this plan in order to strategically plan for the future, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with R.P. HUGHES ARCHITECTS, INC., 1560 Fishinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, for preparation of a 20 year Facility Assessment/Master Plan; in accordance with City specifications, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account 101.141.5511, Lands & Buildings, Capital, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
