TO HONOR AND COMMEND PHILLIP B. SMITH FOR SEVEN YEARS SERVICE ON THE GAHANNA PLANNING COMMISSION

WHEREAS, PHILLIP B. SMITH, had a great desire to serve the community of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, when the opportunity presented itself, PHILLIP B. SMITH, agreed to serve on the Gahanna Planning Commission beginning January 1995; and
WHEREAS, PHILLIP B. SMITH, served as Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission in 1996, and as Chairman in 1997 and 1998; and
WHEREAS, when Planning Commission Meetings got bogged down, you could be sure that PHILLIP B. SMITH, would cut to the chase and keep the meetings running smoothly; and
WHEREAS, PHILLIP B. SMITH, has been an exemplary representative of the Planning Commission, leading by example and demonstrating his understanding of City Code and practices by his high standard of professionalism, integrity, and genuine respect for people; and
WHEREAS, PHILLIP B. SMITH, will be greatly missed by all those who have had the pleasure to work with him;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration, on behalf of the citizens of Gahanna, do hereby honor and commend PHILLIP B. SMITH, for his seven years of service on the Gahanna Planning Commission, and wish him well in all of his future endeavors, knowing that he will continue to support the City of Gahanna, in any way he can.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
