WHEREAS, the City website has not been upgraded for eight years and needs improvement in security and technical infrastructure and is running outdated software that is not compliant with current standards of security and access; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has recommended that we proceed with the redesign of the website with AFS Web; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance so that the City website can be updated as soon as possible to better serve the citizens of Gahanna, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with AFS Web, 5500 New Albany Road, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43054 for the redesign of the City of Gahanna website; contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($45,000) was set aside in the 2010 Appropriations to Account No. 101.348.5290, Information Technology, Web Site, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
