TO HONOR AND COMMEND NATHAN R. KELLEY ON ACHIEVEMENT OF THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT
Body
WHEREAS, an Eagle Court of Honor will be held for NATHAN R. KELLEY on July 25, 1999; and
WHEREAS, in 1989, NATHAN R. KELLEY joined Cub Scout Pack 781, at Chapelfield Elementary and received his Tiger, Cub, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Badges along with the Arrow of Light, God and Country and World Conservation Awards; and
WHEREAS, in 1995, NATHAN R. KELLEY became a member of Boy Scout Troop 776 and earned all possible ranks, Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star and Life; and
WHEREAS, NATHAN R. KELLEY has earned a total of 27 merit badges, has traveled to the Philmont Scout Reservation in 1994, the Boy Scout National Jamboree in 1997 along with Jr. Leader Training at Nagatamen; Nagatamen meaning "he who can be trusted"and recently attended the Tinnerman Canoe Base; and
WHEREAS, as his service project to become an Eagle Scout, NATHAN R. KELLEY, initiated a project to restore a concession stand owned by the Gahanna Lincoln Instrumental Music Boosters and pledged that it would be finished in time to start the football season; and
WHEREAS, NATHAN R. KELLEY, received the support of the Instrumental Boosters and completely restored the concession stand, including repairing and replacing part of the roof and reshingling along with replacing the front panels, repairing the doors and repainting the entire building; and
WHEREAS, NATHAN R. KELLEY, organized and supervised 27 people, including family members and friends, to finish the project under budget and ahead of schedule by August 23, 1998; and
WHEREAS, NATHAN R. KELLEY, serves as an exemplary standard for the youth of our community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration, on behalf of the citizens of Gahanna, honor and commend NATHAN R. KELLEY for his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout.
