Title

 

TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STICKLEN-BELSHEIM ENGINEERING, A DIVISION OF MOODY/NOLAN FOR THE HAMILTON ROAD TRAFFIC STUDY; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

Body

 

WHEREAS, funding was set aside for another contractor to complete the Hamilton Road Study; and

 

WHEREAS, due to change in personnel, this previous contractor cannot fulfil his contract for this work; and

 

WHEREAS, proposal has been made by Sticklen-Belsheim Engineering, a Division of Moody/Nolan for the Hamilton Road Study, and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible due to the heavy traffic patterns generated on his important throughway in the City--all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with Sticklen-Belsheim Engineering, a Division of Moody/Nolan, 1776 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, said contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That funding was set aside in the 1999 Appropriations, and is hereby authorized to be spend from Account No. 101.145.5511, Capital Projects, Streets, in the amount of Forty-two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($42,200) to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on the date of approval by the Mayor.
