A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT A FORMAL APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AND THE LOCAL TRANSPORTATION  IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AS REQUIRED FOR FUNDING THE CHERRY BOTTOM ROAD STABILIZATION PROJECT; AND TO AUTHORIZE THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE GRANT, IF AWARDED.

WHEREAS, the State Capital Improvement Program and the Local Transportation Improvement Program both provide financial assistance to political subdivisions for capital improvements to public infrastructure, and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is planning to make necessary capital improvements to Cherry Bottom Road, and

 

WHEREAS, the infrastructure improvement herein above described is considered to be a priority need for the community and is a qualified project under the OPWC programs.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO: 

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to submit a formal grant application to the Ohio Public Works Commission State Capital Improvement Program and the Local Transportation Improvement Program and is hereby authorized to enter into any agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance.

 

Section 2.  That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to establish a special fund for the grant, if awarded.

 

Section 3.  That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
