TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH IRON MOUNTAIN INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, INC., FOR STORAGE OF BUILDING PLANS AND RELATED EXPENSES; TO TRANSFER FUNDS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, there are at least 30 years of building plans stored in the basement with very little organization; and

 

WHEREAS, the Records Commission along with the Clerk of Council have recommended that the City enter into contract for storage of said Building Plans; and 

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the project to coordinate it with the impending move of the Records Administrator's office to the basement, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with IRON MOUNTAIN INFORMATION, INC., 2120 Buzick Drive, Obetz, Ohio 43207, for storage of building plans and related expenses; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FORTY TWO DOLLARS ($25,242) is hereby transferred from Account No. 101.344.5596, Building, Capital Projects/Improvements to Account No. 101.123.5401, Records Administration, Office Expense.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect this transfer of funds.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
