TITLE
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION FEES PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 949 OF THE GAHANNA CODIFIED ORDINANCES
BODY
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 949 of the Gahanna Codified Ordinances, the Director of Public Service sets, and Council approves, the rates for Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations within the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna provides two types of EV charging stations: Level 2 (L2) Stations and DC Fast Charger (DCFC) stations, with L2 stations located at City Hall, Friendship Park, Hannah Park, and the Municipal Golf Course, and DCFC stations located in the Creekside Parking Garage and the Municipal Parking Lot; and
WHEREAS, in April 2025, sixteen (16) L2 stations were upgraded from 7 kWh ports to 12 kWh ports and transitioned to the AmpUp network, including the DCFC located in the Municipal Lot, providing faster and more efficient charging options to the public; and
WHEREAS, the DCFC in the Creekside Parking Garage is currently under review and is likely to be transitioned to an L2 charging unit in the near future, which will further standardize the City's EV charging infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the following fee structure is recommended for adoption to support the operation and maintenance of the City's EV charging infrastructure:
Level 2 (L2) Stations: $0.28 per kWh, with an idle fee of $2.00 per hour after 10 minutes.
DC Fast Charger (DCFC) Stations: $0.39 per kWh, with an idle fee of $4.00 per hour after 10 minutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO, THAT:
Section 1. The following Electric Vehicle Charging Station fees are hereby adopted:
Level 2 (L2) Stations: $0.28 per kWh, with an idle fee of $2.00 per hour after 10 minutes.
DC Fast Charger (DCFC) Stations: $0.39 per kWh, with an idle fee of $4.00 per hour after 10 minutes.
