TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH THE ROBERT WEILER COMPANY FOR NEGOTIATIONS FOR LAND ACQUISITION FOR THE CREEKSIDE PROJECT; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $8,000 THEREFOR

WHEREAS, the City entered into contract with the Robert Weiler Company for negotiations for land acquisition for the Creekside project through ORD-0020-2001; and

 

WHEREAS, an extension of this contract through January 30, 2002 has been requested for ongoing negotiations; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and prudent to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order that negotiations for acquisition of property may continue in a timely fashion, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended contract with The Robert Weiler Company, 41 South High Street, Suite 2200, Columbus, OH  43215, for acquisition services for the Creekside Project, in accordance with letter proposal dated November 26, 2001, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and City Specifications.

 

Section 2.  That the amount of EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($8,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.343.5253, Development Planning, to pay the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0002-2001, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
