TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RCP SHELTERS, INC., FOR PURCHASE OF SHELTER MATERIALS PACKAGE FOR THE HANNAH FARMS PARK PROJECT; TO WAIVE THE BIDDING PROCESS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, in order to stay on schedule for the completion of Hannah Farms Park before the Parade of Homes, the Parks & Recreation Department needs to proceed immediately to purchase the shelter house materials package; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward so that the shelter house can be finished as soon as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with RCP SHELTERS INC., 2100 SE Rays Way, Stuart, Florida 34994, for Shelter Material Package for the Hannah Farms Park shelter house; Contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the bidding process is hereby waived.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of SEVENTY SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($77,825) was set aside from Bond Proceeds approved by ORD-0095-2007, to Account No. 101.431.5596, Parks Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
