TITLE
A JOINT RESOLUTION AND PROCLAMATION HONORING DR. PAUL KAUFMAN, MD, FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO UROLOGIC CARE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BODY
WHEREAS, Dr. Paul Kaufman, MD, was born on May 14, 1961, and raised in the Detroit, Michigan area, pursuing a distinguished medical education at Michigan State University and Wayne State University Medical School before completing his urology residency at the University of Cincinnati; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kaufman dedicated his career to the field of urology, practicing in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Austin, Texas, before bringing his expertise to Central Ohio in 1997, where he joined Buckeye Urology and played a pivotal role in its growth and success; and
WHEREAS, recognizing the changing landscape of medical practice, Dr. Kaufman demonstrated remarkable foresight and leadership in merging multiple small urology practices into the Central Ohio Urology Group, ensuring the sustainability of high-quality urologic care in the region; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kaufman's vision extended beyond clinical practice, as he was instrumental in the development of the Central Ohio Urology Group's consolidated practice location, including a state-of-the-art surgery center on Tech Center Drive, setting the stage for further medical and economic development on the Buckles property; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kaufman's leadership, patience, and collaborative spirit allowed him to bring together a diverse group of medical professionals to advance the accessibility and quality of healthcare in the community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kaufman and his wife have raised three daughters in New Albany, and while he retired in 2020, his lasting impact on both healthcare and the economic growth of the Buckles Court area remains deeply felt.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL AND PROCLAIMED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:?
