WHEREAS, Council and the Administration are in agreement that the speed limit in the section of Taylor Station Road from Taylor Road to Cross Pointe Road should be reduced to 35 mph; and
 
WHEREAS, to accommodate future development along the portion annexed in 2004 a reduction in speed limit is being requested; and
 
WHEREAS, a speed study was performed and recommendations have been made by City Engineer Karl Wetherholt to establish the speed limit of 35 mph on Taylor Station Road from Taylor Road to Cross Pointe Road;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to petition the Ohio Department of Transportation for a 35 mph speed limit for the section of Taylor Station Road from Taylor Road to Cross Pointe Road; speed zone warrant sheet attached as EXHIBIT A.
 
Section 2.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
