WHEREAS, DAN VORENBERG has been the Assistant Headmaster for 3 years and Head of Lower School for 11 years at the Columbus Academy; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Assistant Headmaster he has worked to transform the Columbus Academy and bring it to another level by expanding and diversifying enrollment; and
WHEREAS, DAN VORENBERG has worked to create and clarify the mission of the Columbus Academy to reflect equity and justice, and guided curriculum reform; and
WHEREAS, DAN VORENBERG has worked to increase the Annual Giving to the Columbus Academy by over 300%, Endowment over 200% and increased enrollment by over 30%; and
WHEREAS, DAN VORENBERG has guided the completion of a $3.5 million, 40,000 sq. ft. building; conformed the building design to optimize teaching space, centralize the administration and maximize student access to all resources; and
WHEREAS, DAN VORENBERG has directed senior administrators in the review, design, and alignment of the school's curriculum and overall educational program, Pre-K-12; and
WHEREAS, under DAN VORENBERG's leadership at the Columbus Academy, he helped establish the school as one of Gahanna's top employers and has been voted among the Best Places to Work this year; and
WHEREAS, DAN VORENBERG a Gahanna employee and resident has been a great asset to the school and will certainly be missed by the faculty, staff, students, parents and the community in general;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That DAN VORENBERG is hereby honored and commended for his work as Assistant Headmaster and Head of Lower School, at the Columbus Academy and given well wishes from the whole community of Gahanna as he moves on as new Headmaster of the Mirman School in Los Angeles, California.
