WHEREAS, the City is in need of two Ford 1-ton dump trucks for the Service Department; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to proceed to purchase said trucks off the State contract from Valley Ford; and
WHEREAS, it imperative to proceed with this purchase all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into purchase agreement with VALLEY FORD TRUCK SALES, INC., 5715 Canal Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44125, from state contract #RS904606, for the purchase of two 2006 Ford 1-ton dump trucks; in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIXTY THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS ($63,230) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations in Account No. 220.330.5512, Capital Equipment, Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
