TO AUTHORIZE THE EXTENSION OF CONTRACT WITH CANINI AND PELLECHIA FOR THE TRIANGLE NORTH SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION, IMPROVEMENT NO. 696, TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 980025; TO AUTHORIZE $41,217; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Triangle North Sanitary Sewer line now extends to Johnstown Road and the contractor is prepared to finish the trunk sewer to Windward Trace; and

 

WHEREAS, due to development in the area and for economic reasons, it is desirable and appropriate to proceed with the additional work; and

 

WHEREAS, since construction is presently underway, it is necessary to authorize this additional work at the earliest possible date, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That this contract was authorized by Ordinance No. 980025, passed March 2, 1998, in an amount not to exceed $300,000.

 

Section 2.  That the additional amount of Forty One Thousand Two Hundred Seventeen is hereby authorized toward this prior contract due to the additional work being done, with said funding set aside in the 1998 Appropriations to Account No. 661.360.5533, Capital Projects, Sewers.

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. 980025, passed March 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this additional authorization of funds.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is deemed emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
