ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND ENGINEERING TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH PIPETEK INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES FOR THE 2020 CCTV & SANITARY SEWER CLEANING PROJECT, WAIVING SECOND READING AND DECLARING IT AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the 2020 CCTV and Sanitary Sewer Cleaning project consists of cleaning and video recording of approximately 15 miles of sanitary sewer pipe and inspection of 399 manholes; and

 

WHEREAS, Bids for the 2020 CCTV & Sanitary Sewer Cleaning Project were opened on Friday, May 29, 2020.  The lowest responsive and responsible bidder is Pipetek Infrastructure Services; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with Pipetek Infrastructure Services, 861 William, Plymouth, MI 48170, for the 2020 CCTV & Sanitary Sewer Cleaning Project; said Contract attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

 

Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY NINE DOLLARS ($250,649) has already been appropriated in account 662.11.000.5500, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That the second reading is hereby waived.

 

Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
