TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO FILE AN APPLICATION AND ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE D.A.R.E. GRANTS ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING FUNDS THROUGH THE OHIO D.A.R.E. GRANTS PROGRAM

WHEREAS, this Council recognizes the need for continued D.A.R.E. programming; and
WHEREAS, the D.A.R.E. Grants Advisory Board, allocates funding in the form of grants to supplement D.A.R.E. programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby endorses and supports applying for a grant through the Ohio D.A.R.E. Grants Program and will implement the program.
Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Gahanna is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Ohio D.A.R.E. Grants Program to implement said grant program.
Section 3. That the Mayor of the City of Gahanna is hereby designated as the Authorized Official and is thereby the official signatory for all grant documents.
Section 4. That all formal actions of this Council concerning the adoption of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and all deliberations of this Council or any Council committees that result in such formal action were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
