TO REESTABLISH AND DETERMINE THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA SHALL BE A PART-TIME POSITION FOR THE TERM BEGINNING JANUARY 3, 2000; TO PROVIDE COMMENSURATE COMPENSATION THEREFOR.

WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to reestablish that the elected position of City Attorney of the City of Gahanna shall remain a part-time position, with commensurate compensation therefor; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary that this position be firmly established and compensation set therefor in a timely manner in order to file such information with the Board of Elections of Franklin County as required by law;
NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby determines that EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2000, the position of City Attorney of the City of Gahanna shall be a part-time position to be paid compensation in the amount of Forty-eight Thousand Dollars ($48,000) per annum, payable at the regular pay periods, together with payment by the City of Gahanna to the Public Employee Retirement System for the benefit of the office holder as prescribed by law. It is further stated herein that compensation means salary; any other items, such as staffing, office space, and/or hospitalization, if any shall be determined at a later time.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 98-95, passed August 1, 1995, and any ordinances or parts or sections of ordinances in conflict herewith, are repealed as of January 3, 2000.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
