TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH DELL COMPUTERS; TO REPLACE EXISTING COMPUTERS IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF COURT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, new software authorized for the Clerk of Court by ORD-0126-2000 has been received; and
WHEREAS, the software vendor is unable to load the software onto the existing computers due to a lack of available memory; and
WHEREAS, Mayor's Court computers are paid for by money generated to the Court Computer Fund; and
WHEREAS, it is critical to purchase these upgraded computers as quickly as possible in order to install the new software that has arrived, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with DELL COMPUTERS, for the purchase of 4 Dell Dimension 4100 PC's as outlined in the on-line quote attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That $5,200 has been appropriated in the 2000 Appropriations to Account Number 229.151.5511, Court Fund Capital, for this purchase.
Section 3. That sufficient monies are available in 229.151.5511, Court Fund Capital, due to an advance to the Court Computer Fund from 101.991.5939, Transfer, General Fund, authorized by ORD-0001-2000 passed January 3, 2000.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
