TO CREATE THE FULL-TIME UNCLASSIFIED POSITION OF RECORDS ADMINISTRATOR, TO ESTABLISH DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES; TO SET COMPENSATION THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Council office has been working with a reduced staff since August while reevaluating the needs of the office; and

 

WHEREAS,  the need for additional staff in the Council office has been realized for quite a while; and

 

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and appropriate at this time to authorize a new position, with certain criteria and job responsibilities, by expanding the part-time position of Records Clerk to create the full time unclassified position of Records Administrator to work in the Council office; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable at this time to establish the position of Records Administrator as quickly as possible for the continued efficient operation of the Council office, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That, under authority of Charter Section 13.03(L), Classified and Unclassified Service, effective January 2, 2002, there is hereby established the full-time unclassified position of Records Administrator, said position to be appointed by Council and work under the direction of the Clerk of Council.

 

Section 2.  That a brief description of the duties is attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 3.  That compensation for this position is hereby established as the range of $25,000 to $40,000, and is hereby set effective January 2, 2002 at $30,000 per annum.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
