ORDINANCE NO. 3-98

Title

 

TO AUTHORIZE THE ACTING DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STOTTLEMYER HYDROMULCHING, INC.,  FOR  ENLARGING, SEEDING, AND MULCHING THE ACADEMY WOODS DRIVE SWALE NORTH; TO WAIVE THE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS THEREFOR

WHEREAS, recent complaints of yard flooding resulted in recommendation that the Academy Woods Drive Swale North was not wide enough and that storm water management had not been taken into account when the swale was originally constructed; and

 

WHEREAS, a landscape contractor known to the City as sensitive to the needs of lawns of our residents has submitted a proposal, which has been recommended by the Acting Director of Public Service and the City Engineer;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Acting Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor to enter into contract with STOTTLEMYER HYDROMULCHING, INC., 13599 Bell Road, Marysville, Ohio 43040, for enlarging (widening), seeding, and mulching the Academy Woods Drive Swale North in accordance with proposals submitted on 10/23/97, Inquiries Numbered S97-313 and S97-314, attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That the formal bidding requirements are hereby waived.

 

Section 3.  That funding for this project was set aside in the 1998 Appropriations to Account No. 230.350.5447, Storm Sewer Miscellaneous, in the amount of Fourteen Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty Dollars ($14,760) to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
