TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH N. M. SAVKO & SONS, INC., FOR THE PRICE ROAD WATERLINE; IMPROVEMENT NO. 751; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $75,760 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, bids were accepted for the Price Road Waterline on November 13, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the lowest and best bidder has been selected by the Director of Public Service with concurrence of the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined to go with the Bore versus the Open Cut option; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project due to construction time remaining this year, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with N.M. SAVKO & SONS, INC., 4636 Shuster Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214, for construction of the Price Road Waterline, Improvement No. 751, in accordance with bid and city specifications, bid tab attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($75,760) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5596, Waterline Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2000, passed January 3, 2000, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
