TITLE
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH SENSUS USA, INC. FOR SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.
BODY
WHEREAS, Gahanna water meters are connected to Advanced Metering Infrastructure transmitters; and
WHEREAS, the City is currently upgrading to a new version of this software that is called Sensus Logic which will provide enhancements in the way data is grouped, viewed and accessed, making various customer service tasks more streamlined; and
WHEREAS, as the software is upgraded, it is desirable to have the data hosted by Sensus USA, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this contract for the efficient running of the Department of Public Service software, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with SENSUS USA, INC., 8601 Six Forks Road, Suite 700, Raleigh, North Carolina 27615, for Software as a Service; contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and will be in full force and effect upon passage by Council and the signature of approval by the Mayor.
