TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR MCCORKLE PARK FOR THE AMOUNT OF $686,400.

Body

WHEREAS, recommendation has been made by the Administration to purchase the McCorkle property located on Ridenour Road and Old McCutcheon Road; and

 

WHEREAS, the purchase price recommended is $686,480, plus interest with five-year financing to be carried by the McCorkle family; and

 

WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate to expend funding for this property for park land in this northwest quadrant of the community;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement for the William R. Jr., and Mae L. McCorkle land, which lies along Old McCutcheon Road by Ridenour Road, containing 12.596 acres, more or less, as surveyed in February of 1999, said survey and map attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That funding of One Hundred Thirteen Thousand Three Hundred Fifteen Dollars was set aside to Account No. 101.431.5515, Parks, Capital, in the 1999 Appropriations.

 

Section 3.  That additional funding of THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($35,085) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the GENERAL FUND to ACCOUNT NO. 101.431.5515, PARKS, CAPITAL.

 

Section 4.  That the funding provided in Section 2 and 3 hereof constitute the down payment of One Hundred Forty-Eight Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($148,400) which will be necessary at the time of  Closing.

 

Section 5.  That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect the herein supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 6.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
