TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A 2 YEAR AGREEMENT WITH CAL'S TOWING TO PROVIDE TOWING SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR 2013 AND 2014; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City needs to have towing service for impounded cars 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a response time of not more than 30 minutes; and
WHEREAS, the Police Chief has recommended that we enter into a 2 year contract with Cal's Towing to provide towing and impound services for 2013 and 2014; and
WHEREAS, this contracts needs in be in place by January 1, 2013 so it is prudent to pass this legislation as quickly as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a 2 year Agreement with CAL'S TOWING, 508 North James Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219, for towing services for the City of Gahanna; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding will be set aside in the 2013 & 2014 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
