TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR JOHNSTOWN ROAD RECONSTRUCTION FROM STYGLER ROAD TO RIDENOUR ROAD; TO ALLOCATE USE OF $100,100 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letter proposal for engineering design services, dated March 9, 2000, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order that reconstruction of this road may proceed in an orderly manner, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., 130 East Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 025, Worthington, Ohio 43085, for engineering services for a Johnstown Road Reconstruction from Stygler Road to Ridenour Road, said services to include design and preparation of construction plans, in accordance with proposal letter, dated March 9, 2000, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100,100) was set aside in the Year 2000 Appropriations to ACCOUNT NO. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
