TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO JOINT MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES FOR THE PERIOD NOVEMBER 1, 2006 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2007.

WHEREAS, for several years the City has joined the townships of Mifflin and Jefferson in maintaining the vehicles belonging to the City, Mifflin Township, and Jefferson Township, and the Administration has recommended that we continue this joint project; and
WHEREAS, it is an eleven month contract because the townships desire the effective dates of the contract to be October 1 through September 30 for budget purposes; and
WHEREAS, the current Agreement will expire October 31, 2006, and it is desirable and necessary to authorize a new Agreement for the continuity of the vehicle maintenance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into "Joint Maintenance Agreement" between the City of Gahanna and Mifflin Township for the period November 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007; said Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
