TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RUMPKE WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES, FOR RECYCLING PROCESSING FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna participates in a solid waste consortium that consists of nine other communities in the Central Ohio area and the consortium chose to bid recycling processing separately from refuse hauling; and
WHEREAS, the goal was to get a bid for $0.00 or cash back per ton for recycling; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on March 18, 2014, and the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service and by the solid waste consortium; and
WHEREAS, the term of the Contract will be for three (3) years with the option to renew two one-year periods upon mutual consent with the cost of $0.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with RUMPKE WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES, 1191 Fields Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201, for recycling processing services for the City of Gahanna, in accordance with bid and City specifications; said contract attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
